As owner of a home-based online baked goods shop called Sweetz Boutique at www.sweetzboutique.com, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed lately and lost for options.

I often feel as if I am pulling myself in too many directions with running and operating my business, to taking online classes for school, and running my household with a 2-year old boy running around all day long.

My husband is my business partner, but neither of us have ran a business before and it is so hard to compromise on ideas at times.  We both want this business to grow, but do not know where to start.  I found myself becoming a member of the BBWO web group to help gain knowledge about running a profitable online business.

I look forward to learning more and building some strong business and personal relationships along the way.  I am not really the one to just walk up to someone and introduce myself, and my first challenge is going to be to push myself out of my comfort zone.  If anybody has any advice on how to get me out of this please feel free to hit me up!

woman_w_laptopI've been visiting several social networking sites for women to observe and better understand how business women can effectively network online.

While I see quite a few women actively contributing tips and resources on various subjects, I see even more women posting their business ads or posting flashing graphics on the walls or personal message boards of the community members.  While there is nothing wrong with promotion, it is when you haven't contributed to the community, but you expect something from the community.
