Being A Successful Woman Is A Journey - Not A Destination!

woman_aa_smilingWhat comes to mind when you think of a successful business woman? What type of woman runs a successful enterprise? How would you describe her? What does she look like, how does she dress and present herself? The best way to describe her is to look into the mirror.

YOU are that successful business woman!  How you view yourself is vital to your success in every aspect of your life. The following list will keep you on track no matter where you are in your journey of becoming a successful business woman.

  1. Be confident, have a healthy self esteem and an abundance of self love.  Equally important is your attitude, if it’s not positive- change it! You may not be able to change your circumstances, but you can change the way you respond to them. So choose to respond with a positive attitude.

  2. Determine if the timing is right to start or grow a business. The statement timing is everything is 100% accurate. If you proceed, but are ill equipped to handle the demands of the choices and decisions that are required to move forward, you may experience significant obstacles and undesirable consequences.  To avoid this, do your research on all fronts, and invest time in speaking with individuals with expertise in your industry.

  3. Set realistic goals and ensure you take action to work on them daily. If you need someone to assist you with setting and accomplishing your goals, consider working with a Business Coach.

  4. Ensure you surround yourself with supportive individuals. Having unsupportive individuals around you is unhealthy.  Instead, talk with your inner circle; get their buy-in, support and interest in your business success.  In addition, consider joining business organizations for your industry. They offer a wealth of knowledge and may prevent you from having to re-invent the wheel.

  5. If you are not connected via business networking communities – get connected! Networking both on-line and in person are great marketing tools and resources for getting leads for your business. Networking can also open the door to additional opportunities.  You’ll find that a majority of these on-line networking organizations are free, which helps if you’re low on cash.  Every dollar counts!

  6. Whenever you step outside of your door make sure you are dressed for success! Look the part, and always present yourself as if you are already where you desire to be. You are your company’s best marketing tool.  Also remember, no one knows your true financial or business information but you.

  7. One more very important thing – smile! They say it takes more effort to frown than to smile. Smiling changes your attitude, brightens your face and gives you an approachable demeanor.
