"I'm going to get to it", "This year, I'm going to write my business plan", "I'm going to start an exercise plan - for real" and the list goes on and on...

We've all had the experience of saying what we are going to do and life runs us, instead of us managing our lives and we never get around to it.

And now, it's time for us to really love ourselves and make things happen now and not later.  It's called loving ourselves the right way.  It's time to truly pave your path to success with what you've dreamed of or to fulfill your purpose.

Loving yourself means that you must come first!  That's right, I said it.  It means that you have to "put the air mask on first" in order to help others.  It means that you must respect yourself and take action on the things that mean most to you.  Are you ready to get started?  Great, below are 5 ways to take action in loving yourself:

  1. Take a Bubble Bath!
    Take the time to relax and enjoy a bubble bath weekly.  Purchase your favorite fragrances and candles and look forward to pampering yourself.

  2. Discover what brings you joy.
    What makes you wake up in the mornings excited to get started?  What would you be doing even if you didn't get paid to do it?

  3. Write your vision and commit to making it happen!
    Writing your vision down on paper will help you to start the motion of attracting those things that you need to make it happen.  When you declare and believe in what you want, you'll automatically begin to take action in the right direction.

  4. Write goals to support your vision
    Many think that goals and visions are one in the same, but actually goals support your vision and help to to make your vision happen.

  5. Reserve 1 hour daily to work on your personal development
    Give yourself the time you need to meditate, pray, improve your skills in a particular area, or read up on a subject that will take you closer to your vision.  Doing this will bring you fulfillment and satisfaction.  It will also empower you to know that you are the one that can make it happen.

  6. Create 5 Affirmations that you can write, repeat and read throughout your day.
    Cheryl Richardson, author of the book, "Life Makeover" says “Every thought you think and every word you say is an affirmation for your future.”  I truly believe that.

  7. Place all actions and to-do items in your planner. Many women don't like to have a structured schedule, but truth be told - a fulfilled life is all about structure and management.  It's very difficult to accomplish goals if you can't focus and get structured. Placing your to-do items in a time slot in your planner will keep what's important priority.

  8. Walk at least 30 minutes daily. Walking will help you to have more endurance and improve your cardiovascular system, assist in losing weight if needed and it increases your energy!
